Our client is a large manufacturer of plastic fluid handling products used in many industries--they have an immediate need for a market research analyst.

Performs independent research and gathers statistically significant data to help client market its products and services, in support of the development of strategies and tactics to improve Company competitiveness and to accelerate financial growth.

Involved data includes customer, distributor and dealer demographics, preferences, pricing and purchasing habits, as well as relevant data about identified competitors, market and economic conditions and applicable laws, Codes and regulations. Data is collected using a variety of methods, including interviews, questionnaires, Internet sources, focus groups, databases, published literature and from social media. The Market Research Analyst analyzes quantitative and qualitative data utilizing using statistical techniques and software and to interpret/extrapolate to assess current situations, monitor trends, or forecast expected outcomes. The analyzed data is distilled into clear, concise, accurate and understandable information for discussion and presentation to internal and external personnel, as required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collects complex data on end user and intermediate customers, competitors and marketplace conditions and consolidate the resulting information into actionable items, reports, and presentations
  • A critically important aspect of this role is the identification, collection, and analysis of data to support business case proposals for the development of new and improved products or the rationalization of existing products
  • Understands business objectives to determine relevant data to be collected
  • Catalogues findings to internal databases for future reference and use
  • Analyzes key competitors’ market offerings, pricing/business models, sales volumes, trending metrics and customer base composition
  • Interfaces with third party information providers, if required
  • Remains fully informed of general market and economic trends and apply derived information to assist LASCO leadership in the formulation of short and long-term business planning
  • Monitors and forecasts  sales trends
  • Measures the effectiveness of marketing programs and strategies
  • Catalogues applicable Codes, laws regulations and Patents
  • Performs other related duties as assigned



  • Ability to multi-task
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Deep understanding of commercially available statistical and data analyses software (i.e., SPSS, SAS, Tableau or similar), databases and MS Office tools
  • Knowledge of Internet search engines, Web analytics, and social media
  • Working knowledge of data collection methods (polls, focus groups, surveys, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of data warehousing and data mining

Education and/or Experience:

  • BS degree in Statistics, Marketing or related field
  • 5+ years’ experience in similar role
  • Relevant experience in the building trades’ industry and specifically the irrigation industry is strongly preferred

Language Skills:

Ability to read, write and converse at a professional level in the English language.

Mathematical Skills:

  • Algebra and Integral Calculus
  • Descriptive and inferential statistics

Reasoning Ability:

Exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills
